This week's challenge is to create an interactive resume example.
As a music major and someone who has studied the violin since the age of 5, I’ve spent a lot of my life on stage or in an orchestra pit. It’s only fitting that this resume is all about being in a show. I also used my four years of experience writing and designing concert programs (when I was a music teacher), and channeled it into this resume.
Once you click on the project, you’ll be taken to a stage, where a playbill is front and center. After clicking on the playbill, you’ll be taken to my interactive resume, set up like a real playbill with the cast, reviews, and two acts, just like you were attending a musical.
I used existing illustrations within Articulate Storyline to make the initial stage scene, then used different text boxes on the second slide layer to set up my resume. I created different states for the clickable sections so that the user could learn more about me and my experience.
As a finishing touch, I added a few sound effects for engagement – the audience cheering at the beginning, the drum roll as the user hovers over the playbill, and the trumpets singing “ta-da” when the user transitions to the slide layer with the open playbill.
This interactive resume is a fantastic visual of my professional experience with several different engaging elements, and it also shows my personality and musical background!
